Stenciled snowflake

And Another Week Rolls By

I feel like it's been a short week in the sewing room, do you feel that way also?  I still accomplished what I needed even with taking off 2.5 days from sewing!

1. Finish up at least three of the seven runners I stenciled last week. ✅

Three of them were done.  Two of these Snow Dudes were identical in every way. They both sold already. I need to cut and stencil more.

And I finished one of the buffalo plaid snowman table runners.  I changed up the fabric on this ones hat. Usually the brim matches the outer border and the hat itself is the gray.

2. Make 4 quick and easy placemats for Thanksgiving dinner-we are inviting friends over to share our turkey since the kids are busy with their in laws. ✅

Last Wednesday I took time to make 4 placemats and one small center mat. The fabric matches my valances in the kitchen/dining room. We had lots of fun with friends for turkey dinner on Thursday.  Isn't that a gorgeous floral arrangement, they brought that over for us! They said they don't fix Thanksgiving dinner so it was a treat for them to have a traditional turkey dinner.  Afterwards we played a few games of Farkle.

3. Might start decorating for Christmas. ✅
Yes the tree is up.  The grandkids were over for a few hours on Friday and then helped put the tree up and a few snowmen in various places. I might do more over the course of the week.

4. I need to work on the last 4 square red and white toppers for the local order. ✅✅✅✅-DONE.
I am so happy to say I am officially done with the last four toppers for my local gals!  I'll be calling them soon. All in all I had 12 things to make for them, eight of them were these identical table toppers.
The first four went to one lady, she was using them for Christmas presents.  These were done by November 7th.

The second set are for the other two ladies.  This pattern is Christmas logs by Connie at Freemotion By the River.  Thanks Connie for a fun pattern!  But I have to say making 8 identical toppers with each one having 8 holly leaves makes for a while lot of drawing, fusing, cutting and appliqueing!!!!  That's 64 holly leaves:0

That's it for last weeks To Do Tuesday goals, now lets see  what I can accomplish this week.

1. Two Gnome wall hangings
2. A Gnome table runner
3. Snowman table runner
4. We'll see what might be needed in the shop

Weekly To Do Tuesday Goals

Every Tuesday Texas Quilt Gal hosts a 'To Do Tuesday' a linky party for us to set goals, publicly announce them and hopefully get them done. I'll be linking there today.

My goals for the week were:

1. Snowman with a short hat-⍻-see that symbol-to me that means NOT done.  Instead of finishing one I started 7 snowman runners in three different styles! I cut out the backgrounds and stenciled all of their snowflakes. They are hanging off my ironing board drying and then I heat set them before adding the borders.

2. Tilting Trees table runner-hope to make two while I am at it.✅

3. Buffalo plaid snowman table runner-the long version. ✅ Yes I made two of these while I was at it and a good thing I did... they are both gone already.

I also made the matching hexagon ones.

4. Finish three snowman wall hangings.✅ You might have seen these already as I posted about the snowman trio HERE.  Two of these are now gone.

And that my folks was my week, a busy but very productive one, I worked most of the weekend. I did knock off early on Saturday to go to our daughters house to be with the grands while daughter and hubby went to a function.

So let's see what I need to do this week:
1. Finish up at least three of the seven runners I stenciled last week.
2. Make 4 quick and easy placemats for Thanksgiving dinner-we are inviting friends over to share our turkey since the kids are busy with their in laws.
3. Might start decorating for Christmas.
4. I need to work on the last 4 square red and white toppers for the local order.

I hope you all have a wonderful week and eat just the right amount of turkey and trimmings so you don't feel stuffed:)  Happy Thanksgiving!!

To-Do-Many-Things-Tuesday!

How can it possibly be Tuesday already!!  I think we all say that each week don't we?  Last Tuesday of September-that's a scary thought. It's been a very busy productive week!

The goals I set for the week were:

1. Finish a Pumpkin Harvest wall hangings 👍 I picked up this new black that sorta looks like grunge at Hobby Lobby recently.

2. Three local friends were coming over 👍👍👍 Yep it was a great afternoon!  Holy cow they bought several runners and between all three of them they ordered 8 more runners and 2 wall hangings!!  They don't need them until December so I can work them in whenever I have time between keeping up with my Etsy shop. Eight of these runners are alike-not sure I have enough red batik so I might have to go shopping:0

3. Write up at least one blog post 👍👍 I did two.  If you missed them you can see them HERE and HERE.

4.Quilt a turkey table runner  👍

5. Whatever else need doing  👍  That's an easy one to meet!  But no photo on it today, but come back on Friday and you will see my newest pattern release. Yes it is finally ready!  I will be binding it tomorrow and get photos.  I did already finish one and sold it already. I made a little modification to the one I will use for the cover photo.

Also on the whatever list are these two Tilted Tree runners.

And OMG I finally got around to whipping up the sunflower runner!  I took it off the goal list and then finally did it, LOL

Not done yet LOL, two Gnome runners- to be fair these were already pieced.  So the quilting, applique and binding for this week.

Okay that's it!  Now don't forget to stop back on Friday for a look at the new pattern!!

This week:
1. Write up the pattern release blog post and get it listed in my Etsy shop.
2.  Make a Snowman wall hanging.
3. Go to the Amish Auction with a friend.
4. Whatever else needs making;)

Have a great week and don't forget to hop over to Linda's To Do Tuesday goal linking party!  And we can't forget our Wednesday wonderful linkup parties also...  Wednesday Wait Loss and Midweek Makers

Two week To Do Tuesday

I took last Tuesday off from writing up a goal post.  Things are getting really busy in the shop now with Fall and Halloween on the horizon.  Sometimes I never know what I should make until I wake up the next day:)  Halloween wall hangings have been really popular, they all sold out over the weekend and that is including what I have done over the past 2 weeks!

Isn't this a fun one with it's pointy border. I made those using my Accuquilt 8" companion cube.

I was in need of getting a couple of my Pumpkin Harvest wall hangings made and listed. Yep did that and they are gone already too! I couldn't be more thrilled!!  If you want to make one I have a pattern in my Etsy pattern shop-Patterns by Vicki.  So quick and easy to make.

I had a few of these pumpkin table runners pieced so I grabbed one of them last week and quilted it up.

I decided to try out the 15 degree wedge ruler I bought at the estate sale a couple weeks ago. And I used fabric I bought there also. This is just like the 10 degree round wedge toppers I usually make.  But with the 15 degree you can see a bit more of the pattern in the fabric.

Some of the same fabrics went into this one which I used the 10 degree ruler on.

In the evenings I have done a bit more on the Autumn cross stitch SAL with Melisa.

One more thing I did during the past two weeks was to write up another pattern to release in early October, so be on the watch for that!!

This week I know some things I should get done...

1. I made another Halloween flimsy yesterday so it needs quilting ASAP.

2. Quilt another fall pumpkin embroidered wall hanging ASAP.

3. Quilt another turkey table runner.

4. Make more Pumpkin Harvest wall hangings.(my pattern)

5. Make sunflower wall hanging. (my pattern)

6. Work on whatever else I can squeeze in!

To Do list on Tuesday

In spite of only have one item on the To Do List last week I accomplished more than that.  So the one thing on list was to make a round snowman topper for a customer. Nailed it!!  This is from one of my patterns called Around and Around We Go which can be found in my Etsy pattern shop.

With that done I was free to work on whatever I wanted.  First up was two round wedge toppers in a fall theme.

Progress was also made on the Autumn SAL with Melisa.  I am pleased with how much I have done this week. I see Melisa finished hers up and it is cute!!!  I might take a couple nights off from it though, my wrists are really bothering me.

Halloween is right on our back doorstep, well at least for those looking for new things to decorate with.  So I thought I should get another of these Hocus Pocus wall hangings done.  The pattern is from Primrose cottage on Etsy. I made one for myself last year and sold one also so you might remember seeing it here before.  It basically is using the same fabrics for all three.

I really don't know right now what goals I have for the upcoming week, but rest assured I will make something!  Wishing you all a great week.  And don't forget to hop over to Linda's for To Do Tuesday, Monday Design WallMonday MakingWednesday Wait Loss and Midweek Makers

Quilting, Celebrating and Weekly Goals

First lets talk about the weekly goals for To Do Tuesday.  I did meet some of the goals and some I didn't as I did other things instead:0

The goals were:

  • Finish four snowman table runners- YES✅ These two are from my Snow Dudes pattern which can be found in my Etsy pattern shop.

And two more make four snowman table runners finished.

  • Finish two Gnome table runners- YES✅ These are also from my original pattern, if you are interested you can find it in my Etsy pattern shop HERE.

  • I have lots of photos to take and get the items listed in my Etsy shop- I did a lot but still more to go.

  • Start a Halloween wall hanging(maybe)- YES✅ Witchy Boo that I posted on Thursday, you can see it HERE if you missed it.

  • Every time I turn around I think of something else that I need to get made up for the shop...nope they might just have to wait another week!  YES✅  One reversed S Swirl runner all done.

  • And as if that isn't enough I am joining Melisa at Pinker n Punkin Quilting for her Autum cross stitch SAL.  So I have to get that started and stitch a bit each night.  I couldn't resist as I like to decorate for the fall!   YES✅  I surprised myself at how much I was able to get done on it this week!

Not bad for a week's work I say!  We also had time to celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary on Sunday.  We didn't plan anything big but we did go on a little sightseeing paddlewheel boat in a nearby lake which is part of the Mississippi River.  And then out to dinner.

Here we are 40 years ago!

And here we were yesterday on the paddlewheel. Yes we had jackets on, it turned cold, breezy and cloudy.

Okay on to next week's goals...I have a round snowman topper to make for an order. That's the only thing I have to get done.  But I am sure I will work on other table runners and perhaps another wall hanging and I will continue with the cross stitch project. And hopefully get caught up on photos for listings. Oh wait I might play with my new machine!  I'll tell you about that in a later post.

Is it Tuesday already!!!

Geesh the week has just flown by hasn't it?  Each week on Tuesday a bunch of us set goals for the coming week and link up at To Do Tuesday at Texas Quilt Gal.

The goals I set for last week were:

  • work on round wedge toppers and reversed S swirl runners- The strip sets are sewn and need pressing. They didn't progress any further.

  • work on snowman runners-✅
Yes I pieced two different styles of snowman runners, here you see one style on the longarm yesterday.

I also pieced two of my Gnome table runners, and quilted them.  They are awaiting their turn to be bound and appliqued.   A turkey table runner was quilted too.  So even though I didn't fill all my goals I kept busy.

This week I have lots I want to accomplish:
  • Finish four snowman table runners
  • Finish two Gnome table runners
  • I have lots of photos to take and get the items listed in my Etsy shop
  • Start a Halloween wall hanging(maybe)
  • Every time I turn around I think of something else that I need to get made up for the shop...nope they might just have to wait another week!
  • And as is that isn't enough I am joining Melisa at Pinker n Punkin Quilting for her Autum cross stitch SAL.  So I have to get that started and stitch a bit each night.  I couldn't resist as I like to decorate for the fall!
Okay there is no time to waste, chop chop.  I need to get to work!!

Two for To Do Tuesday

I am joining several other bloggers in setting goals and trying to meet them on Tuesday each week.

I am pleased to say I met my goals for the week.  The first goal was to work on a couple more panels.
The first one features a red barn with Christmas trees.  After squaring up the little panel I added the first border in a black/gray marble fabric, next came the red and white checkerboard.

So much fun to add my own flying geese pieced tree. More black/gray marbled fabric for a finished 1" border which also goes around the green and red pinwheel additions. The striped binding sets off the final red border.

A little close up peek at the red barn itself.

I decided to use four red string blocks sashed with a black print to spruce up the center of the backing.

The next panel I worked with is a another red truck one.  And can you spot my red truck prop!  I found it unpainted at the Dollar Tree:)  So I got right to digging out my paints, brush and made a fast job of painting it.

I had lots of fun deciding what features I should do in this wall hanging.  I could have done more trees since there are trees in the panel itself. But I wanted it a little different.  In the end I went with quarter square triangles to make the red and green border blocks.

Some custom quilting ensued:)

The other goals I had were to make a reversed S swirl runner and to make a round wedge topper.  I did work on two of each style.  The fabrics were pulled from the stash and all the strips sets are sewn.  And that is as far as I got.  They are all Christmas related. I thought maybe that would help keep things cool.  Nope didn't help one little bit. Last week was really nice, but as I am writing this we are heading to the 90's again.

The first ones on the goal list for the upcoming week is to
  • finish piecing the above round wedge toppers and S swirl runners.
  • Work on snowman runners
  • That's all I can muster up the desire and energy for this week!
How about you will you have a long goal list or a short one?

Linking up with To Do Tuesday at Texas Quilt Gal, and Midweek Makers  Wishing you all a wonderful week.
