It'Snow Lie

It's snow lie, I have been working hard at getting snowman table runners finished and into my Etsy shop!  I took these to quilt retreat a couple weeks ago. I kitted them up at home. Meaning I had cut the triangles and stenciled the snowflakes on at home. The applique of faces and piecing these occurred at retreat.

Upon returning home I quilted them and got the binding done and listed and sold this one already! That's okay as I worked on three of these, so today I will quilt up another.

Easy but effective quilting was done. Straight lines parallel to the outer edge in the border for this one.

This one too was started at home, worked on at retreat and then finished at home:)

I stitched the outer border a little different on this one since I could follow the straight lines of the check.  I also worked on three of these.

Yesterday was a fun day, in the morning I sew red strings onto phone book pages. These will eventually end up in pieced backings for snowman table runners. In the afternoon two local ladies came to look at table runners and they each bought several. So thankful for them as I now have projects planned for this week:)

In the evening I started this pumpkin/crow stitchery while watching TV.  It's a pattern by This & That pattern company.

Another fast week in the books.  Here was my goal list for the past week...

1. Two Gnome in the Forest wall hangings-✅✅✅- yes, you see three checks because I made three of them!  Two were for the big local order, and one for my Etsy shop. They all have the same backing this time. If you are interested in the pattern I have it in my Etsy pattern shop HERE.

2. Hexie topper- ✅  ✅  Yes, two of these were needed also, but with different fabrics.

3. Snowman table runner-✅  This one is now sold so another will need to be made soon.

Weekly goals

It's Tuesday again and time to check in and let you know what I have accomplished on my goals list for the past week.

1. Quilt and bind a snowman table runner ✅

And it's backing is pieced with a fun snowman print and coordinating colors.

2. Quilt and bind a snowman wall hanging ✅  I posted about him on Sunday, you can read about it HERE.

3. Quilt and bind a poinsettia table runner ✅

4. Start cutting red batik fabric for 8 identical table toppers ✅  Yes I did cut all the red and all the white batik and I have enough to make them without purchasing more fabric!!  I forgot to get a photo while it was still light enough so you will just have to take my word for it!

5. Work on whatever else I have time for ✅  We picked our apples as there was freeze warnings out.
Those bags, tub and pails are full. You see the one I am holding, it's huge!  They aren't all like that but several really nice size ones.

So we made an apple pie.  I followed the Betty Crocker cook book recipe and wished it were a bit tastier, more spices needed I think.  Do you have a favorite recipe you use for apple pie?

Also in the do whatever else category is another Starry Path table runner in fall colors was finished.  The Accuquilt die was used for this.

For this week:
1. Finish another snowman wall hanging-or maybe even two!
2. Finish another sunflower table runner
3. Start piecing the 8 identical table toppers
4. Attend a longarm class-we are having Julia Quiltoff come do a day long class for our local longarm group
5. Prepare blog post for the Gremlins, Goblins and Ghouls blog hop. My day is October 19th
6. Whatever else I can fit in

Wishing you all a productive week!!  Be sure to check out lots of bloggers goals over at To Do Tuesday.

Two more of my cold weather friends

You know how much I love my snowmen friends!  Must be the hot weather we had last week that made me want to dip into snowman land.  I pieced five of these buffalo plaid snowman runners, then stenciled on the snowflakes.  They are now resting and waiting their turn to be quilted as they are needed.  One made it to the finish line though😉

I made so many of these last year that I sorta got tired of making them, but after having a rest it was fun again.  I mean who can resist that cute face!

The hexie snowmen toppers came along with me to Arizona last winter and a few were pieced and appliqued.  So why not push one of them to the finish line also.  I have a tutorial for this one under the tutorial tab at the top of this page.  A few of you have made it and they were so cute!!

After that I kinda hit a brick wall on Friday.  Do you ever get yourself in a tizzy over having a large stash of fabric or a big stash of UFO's?  Who am I kidding I know I am not in this alone...am I?  But it just all got to me on Friday and I went whining to a friend about it.  She told me I was too hard on myself.  I decided to do a little something about that, out came a UFO lap size and I quilted it up that very afternoon!  It felt so good I got the backing ready for another, I felt like I was on a roll, but it might come to an abrupt halt for at least a few days.  Other things are calling my name😊.  After I get the binding on the UFO's I'll share. That won't be for a few days. We have an ATV ride planned, going to a grandson's baseball game, and I have two local customers coming over this week.   Okay I better get hoppin!
