Weekend Stitching

Friday I quilted the two gnome runner flimsies. Saturday I did all the machine applique on them.

They are identical except for the backings I used up a few scraps for that. Joining in over at Oh Scrap!

Friday evening I started a new cross stitch. I will be doing this for Slow Stitching Sunday tonight also.

On Monday I will join these parties...

To-Do-Many-Things-Tuesday!

How can it possibly be Tuesday already!!  I think we all say that each week don't we?  Last Tuesday of September-that's a scary thought. It's been a very busy productive week!

The goals I set for the week were:

1. Finish a Pumpkin Harvest wall hangings 👍 I picked up this new black that sorta looks like grunge at Hobby Lobby recently.

2. Three local friends were coming over 👍👍👍 Yep it was a great afternoon!  Holy cow they bought several runners and between all three of them they ordered 8 more runners and 2 wall hangings!!  They don't need them until December so I can work them in whenever I have time between keeping up with my Etsy shop. Eight of these runners are alike-not sure I have enough red batik so I might have to go shopping:0

3. Write up at least one blog post 👍👍 I did two.  If you missed them you can see them HERE and HERE.

4.Quilt a turkey table runner  👍

5. Whatever else need doing  👍  That's an easy one to meet!  But no photo on it today, but come back on Friday and you will see my newest pattern release. Yes it is finally ready!  I will be binding it tomorrow and get photos.  I did already finish one and sold it already. I made a little modification to the one I will use for the cover photo.

Also on the whatever list are these two Tilted Tree runners.

And OMG I finally got around to whipping up the sunflower runner!  I took it off the goal list and then finally did it, LOL

Not done yet LOL, two Gnome runners- to be fair these were already pieced.  So the quilting, applique and binding for this week.

Okay that's it!  Now don't forget to stop back on Friday for a look at the new pattern!!

This week:
1. Write up the pattern release blog post and get it listed in my Etsy shop.
2.  Make a Snowman wall hanging.
3. Go to the Amish Auction with a friend.
4. Whatever else needs making;)

Have a great week and don't forget to hop over to Linda's To Do Tuesday goal linking party!  And we can't forget our Wednesday wonderful linkup parties also...  Wednesday Wait Loss and Midweek Makers

Crazy busy week

I found the perfect backing for my snowmen table runners.  It is 108" wide, at Jo Anns and I had a 50% off coupon, I bought 90 inches of it.  For these runners I cut the wide backing down to 45"x108" and pinned the 45" sides to the long arm.  Earlier in the week I cut and pieced 6 table runners in three different styles.  And then I became a quilting machine. All 6 were quilted in a day, that was a full day and I was tired at the end.

Next came the applique, better to applique a bunch with the same thread color and then change to the next color. But I was getting sick of applique and couldn't quite finish them all. So, I decided to just stop doing that and finish up  three of them as I needed to replenish ones that sold in the shop.  I know I keep talking about items selling, I am just thrilled to bits that people love my quilted items and keep coming back for more!  Never, ever did I dream it could be like this.  I mean I hoped I could sell some here and there but it's more than that.  And I thank each and every one of you that has cheered me on!

These are the three I totally finished and now I have their mates to finish when I need them.  In the meantime onto the next;)

It's getting close to Thanksgiving!  We have anywhere from 21 to just a couple at a time. This is part of the 21 trying to get a drink from our pond in the backyard 15 feet from the house!

To Do Tuesday #36

Happy Tuesday to all of you!  I never thought I would stick to making a written goal list this long. It's not that I truly feel the need to write a list as I usually just know, in my head, what I need to do. But this gives me something to blog about.  This was the perfect year to try this out.  I am sure a lot of you out there has struggled this year to blog also.  Sometimes I just don't feel like doing it, so the goal list helps me out.

My goals this week were to make:

  • Strawberry table runner-✅
  • Quilt snowman table runner-✅
  • Gnome runner-✅
  • Quilt a panel wall hanging-✅
A strawberry table runner was a custom make for a customer.  There was one in my Etsy shop but it was a bit to long for her so I made to her specifications.

Snowman table runner for my shop using my Through the Window pattern.  The pattern can be found in my Etsy pattern shop

A little different quilting design in the outer border done using rulers on my Nolting FunQuilter.

Another Gnome runner was finished.  You can tell this is a new one because I used a different black/gray stripe in the small border!  This is the third one I have done.

Another panel all finished on Thursday, listed on Etsy Friday, and sold on Sunday!!  It's on it's way to Alaska. I am on a panel kick for sure right now.  After squaring up the part of the panel I wanted to use(the center portion of this wall hanging), I added the black faux cork like fabric border.  From there I made the flying geese for the tree and green and red pinwheels.  The measurements were not going to allow me to add pinwheels all around so I added in the light background to fill the space.  I really love how this came out.  It was fun working on it, it brought back memories of younger days as I learned to drive an old red pickup on the farm similar to this. I kinda wish I had another panel like this.

I felt like it was a great week even with all the appointments I had to drive the hubster to.  The last doctor appt was Friday and he is off crutches now and can drive again, thank goodness!! Those were a long 7 weeks.

This week's goals are:

Another strawberry table runner
Two patriotic reversed S swirl runners
Finish another panel that I started yesterday
Two Easter table runners for an order
And if I have time for anything else that would be awesome!

How about you, what are your goals for this week?  Do you have deadlines that need to be met?

Linking with all my friends at To Do Tuesday thanks to Roseanne and Sue for hosting this each week.

Gnome Table Runner

There has been a whole lot of Gnome activity around the net.  Every where you look it seems.  Now I will admit that I just haven't been a Gnome lover and then I met Wendy, LOL  Yep, she loves them as did her mom. Wendy has made some cute and they started to grow on me.  And then last year my friend made me one to sit on my shelf using a mop as a beard.  And factor in all the ones I have seen on the net and well let me introduce you to my very own Gnome table runner.

With the help of Wendy this is what I drew up.  I think he is pretty stinkin' cute.  My usual is to piece the table runner, quilt it and then applique, I stuck to my usual with simple quilting in order to spend the time on the applique.

I stitched in the ditch around the small black border before stippling.  The quilting was all done on my Nolting Funquilter.  The applique on my Janome Skyline 7.

This runner is 100% cotton quilting fabrics except for his beard, which is felt.  It was fun to work on another squirrel;)

The white background fabric has a light gray very faint design of pine needles and pinecones with a bit of sparkle that gives this a magical appearance. He is now listed in my Etsy shop.
