To-Do-Many-Things-Tuesday!

How can it possibly be Tuesday already!!  I think we all say that each week don't we?  Last Tuesday of September-that's a scary thought. It's been a very busy productive week!

The goals I set for the week were:

1. Finish a Pumpkin Harvest wall hangings 👍 I picked up this new black that sorta looks like grunge at Hobby Lobby recently.

2. Three local friends were coming over 👍👍👍 Yep it was a great afternoon!  Holy cow they bought several runners and between all three of them they ordered 8 more runners and 2 wall hangings!!  They don't need them until December so I can work them in whenever I have time between keeping up with my Etsy shop. Eight of these runners are alike-not sure I have enough red batik so I might have to go shopping:0

3. Write up at least one blog post 👍👍 I did two.  If you missed them you can see them HERE and HERE.

4.Quilt a turkey table runner  👍

5. Whatever else need doing  👍  That's an easy one to meet!  But no photo on it today, but come back on Friday and you will see my newest pattern release. Yes it is finally ready!  I will be binding it tomorrow and get photos.  I did already finish one and sold it already. I made a little modification to the one I will use for the cover photo.

Also on the whatever list are these two Tilted Tree runners.

And OMG I finally got around to whipping up the sunflower runner!  I took it off the goal list and then finally did it, LOL

Not done yet LOL, two Gnome runners- to be fair these were already pieced.  So the quilting, applique and binding for this week.

Okay that's it!  Now don't forget to stop back on Friday for a look at the new pattern!!

This week:
1. Write up the pattern release blog post and get it listed in my Etsy shop.
2.  Make a Snowman wall hanging.
3. Go to the Amish Auction with a friend.
4. Whatever else needs making;)

Have a great week and don't forget to hop over to Linda's To Do Tuesday goal linking party!  And we can't forget our Wednesday wonderful linkup parties also...  Wednesday Wait Loss and Midweek Makers

Twelve pieced Gobble It Up table runners

I like to work ahead on projects I need done for my Etsy shop.  Sometimes that means working ahead a few months, sometimes that means a LOT of months!  One would think I would be tired of making my turkey table runners, but I am not:)  I guess this photo proves that, haha.  Twelve runners all pieced.  They are identical except for the fact six have one neutral back ground and six have another.

I just didn't want you to think I was just lazing around doing nothing!!  There might have been a few fun days thrown in here and there, but I am still sewing away.

If you would like to make your own turkey table runner, I have the Gobble It Up! pattern in my Etsy pattern shop.

I hope all is well in your corner in the world and have found some sewing therapy also.

Repeat finishes

There are a few table runners in my Etsy shop that are just more popular than others.  When I sell them I turn around and make more.  Often I use the exact same fabrics as that makes it easy to use spare parts leftover or I might have just bought a bunch of that fabric in anticipation.

For example I might have only started with a yard or two and if the table runner sells fast I might go out and buy several more yards.  That is what happened with the border fabric in this turkey runner, it is just perfect to coordinate with fall colored batik feathers.  This runner make look just like others I have made, but this one was actually finished up on Friday.

I tend to cut out a lot of feathers at one time so those fabrics are used over and over too.  The same quilting design is used on each turkey runner also.  That way I don't have to think what design should I do each time.

Here is another example of the same scenario... Sunflower runner.  This one was finished up on Monday.

There is some major house cleaning happening for the next couple days as Saturday I am hosting my local longarm group.  I didn't get to go to the July meeting and then of course there was Covid so there were no meetings for ages.  It sure will be nice to see them again.

I hope to sneak in a little quilting time in between the cleaning to make my days more fun!

Time flys!

It didn't seem like 20 days ago since my last post but that is what it says!  Time is flying by like crazy isn't it?

I really haven't done a whole lot of sewing during that time either. But here is what I did get done.  I pieced five of my Gobble it Up!  table runners.  I like knowing that I have a stash of them in my closet ready to be quilted when the busy season starts. That way I only have to quilt them up and get them listed in my Etsy shop when it gets closer to fall.

One day I visited a local quilt shop, you know looking for a few new pieces of fabrics to inspire me.  They were having customer appreciation days with door prizes. I didn't even know what the prizes were, but I signed up, it doesn't hurt to do that;)  And at the end of the day they called to say I was one of four grand prize winners!!!  OMG here is what I won.  A CutterPillar light box!  This is going to be really nice to use for both applique and for my card making.  It is thin and pretty light weight and that it is a pretty green doesn't hurt either! The neat thing is that it has a cutting mat with gridlines that you lay over it and you can cut right there. I'll be anxious to try it out.

Even though I didn't get a lot of sewing done I still had a good week. I hope you all did too.  Hopefully I will have more quilting time and energy this week!

To Do Tuesday #8

Hello my quilting buddies.  How are we all doing this week? Were you productive and get lots done?
I think I amazed myself with how much I really accomplished this week. It was more than I listed to do this week.

Here is what I set forth as my week's goal:

1. Finish the last border for the leaf table runners. DONE  I am happy to report that the strips were pieced, cut and sewn onto the 5 leaf table runners.

2. Start sewing the wedges for my Gobble It Up turkey table runners. DONE  Actually the wedges are sewn, turned, pressed and then turned into the turkey feathers.  Not only was that done, but they are also placed onto the background fabric and the borders all sew on six of these table runners!!  I was on a roll this week.

At the same time my Sister-in-law wanted to make one so we had a sewing day, here she is pinning her runner flimsy to the batting and backing.  We had a great time visiting and sewing.  You have to understand she isn't a quilter, but she does a lot of sewing of useful things like bags for their lawn chairs to carry on their ATV, and she makes all kinds of pouches and other accessories for their ATV.  She has sewn wedding dresses and bridesmaid dresses. So I was able to teach her a few quilting tricks along the way, I think she is doing a fabulous job on her Turkey table runner.

3. My third goal was to get a tutorial written for the Accuquilt blog, DONE.  But I can't show you it just yet.  So happy to have this done and submitted. I am not sure when they are going to post it, but think within the next 2-3 weeks.  I'll let you know here on my blog when it is available.  It will be using one of the newer dies called Morning Star.

For this week I want to work on:

1.  Snowmen table runners.

2.  The red/gray string blocks.

3.  If time allows start sewing the red wedges for poinsettia table runners.

If you would like to see what others are working on hop over to To-Do Tuesday at HomeSewnByUs.

June OMG met

I am so happy to report I met my June goal for One Monthly Goal.  The goal I set for myself was to work hard on 10 turkey table runners.  I planned to make 200 feathers for the turkeys and get them set onto at least 5 of the background fabrics.  I achieved that and more!!  You can see HERE what I had to work with at the beginning of June.

After putting together the 200 feathers into 20 groups of 10, I glued them to the 10 table runner background fabrics.  I was still in the mood to work on them so I cut and sewed the borders onto 5 of the runners.  Next I felt like quilting, I managed to quilt up 3 of them before I decided I had spent enough time for now on these.  I am so happy that I achieved my goal and went beyond what I set out to do.

If you are asking what OMG is check out this link to Elm Street Quilts for all the info.  I'll be linking up for the end of the month  OMG celebration party.  I hope to see many of you there:)

I do have a pattern for the turkey table runner called Gobble it Up,  if you are interested you can email me, link on my About page.  At some point I am hoping to get it listed in my Etsy shop.  If you are interested in a finished Gobble it Up table runner, I have it available in my Etsy shop.
