I'm thinking ahead to another season, a patriotic season which extends from Memorial Day thru Labor Day. If you are one of my followers you have seen the first two styles many times in different fabrics. If you happen to be here for the first time, I love making these styles for my Etsy shop. These were made this past week. First up my stars and stripes table runner.
And now for the last one, it's a new design for me!! OMG it was so fun to try out a new ruler and pattern! The design is a free one from Krista Moser called Swirling star. It comes together quickly with strip piecing and the Creative Grids 60 degree diamond ruler.
The quilting on this one took a bit of time but I love how it came out. Ruler work, U turns and a little stippling set this one off nicely I think.
On this Wednesday I will link up with Midweek Makers, and Wednesday Wait Loss. Thursday linking with Put Your Foot Down and NTT
I hope you all are having a fun week whether you are quilting, on a road trip or doing something else. Here is something else fun happening in our yard... wild turkeys have been traversing between us and a few neighbors each day. They are trying to find some food that fell from our deer feeder. Each night we have been watching them fly up to the tree tops to roost for the night. They take a small running step and up the go, for such big birds they do pretty well. We counted up to 14 one night. This was taken a couple weeks ago, since then a bit of this snow has melted.
that is good to think ahead considering you have the shop - get it stocked up those are all so pretty I bet you sell them all. Love your wildlife - look so nice with the snow
ReplyDeleteYou find the best fabrics for your seasonal tablerunners, Vicki! I love seeing what you put together. Those are going to be popular! Fun wildlife photos, too. We're always looking for wild turkeys when we're out and about, but have never had any in the yard. We did have a deer in the yard once, lol! I think she was lost!
ReplyDeleteThe projects look great - super backing. Thanks for the wildlife pictures, amazing place you have.
ReplyDeleteThose toppers are all gorgeous in those colors, Vicki. Very inspiring.
ReplyDeleteVery striking table toppers, Vicki!!!
ReplyDeleteThe runner and table toppers are pretty, Vicki. I love the new design.
ReplyDeleteLove your toppers, especially the new one! Must be fun to watch the wildlife. Thanks for sharing on my weekly show and tell, Wednesday Wait Loss.
ReplyDeleteWow I love these runners/toppers!! I have that 60 degree ruler and have yet to play with it - I'll be getting it out this weekend. :o) Isn't the wildlife fun? We have a group of deer that cross our yard a few times a day, and turkeys as well. The cones you have on your bird feeder stand - do they keep the squirrels away? We have yet to find anything that does!
ReplyDeleteI don't know which of these patriotic toppers I like better. They're all awesome! You yard looks just like mine - a whole herd of deer, and a whole flock of wild turkeys, every single day. Yesterday I watched 2 turkeys fighting right outside my family room windows.
ReplyDeleteThe patriotic season will be here before you know it, so you are good to get going on these for your shop. Love the new pattern, adding it to my stash of fun ideas!
ReplyDeleteHi Vicki! You are gearing up for Memorial Day. I love your third, newest topper. It looks so crisp. That backing fabric is a winner! I don't think we have a Marshall's near us - I've never heard of it. Great job and thanks for the close up of your quilting. I enjoy seeing that! {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne
ReplyDeleteThose runners and toppers are awesome!
ReplyDeleteHow super cool to be able to watch the turkeys!!!
I've seen the swirl block made a very different (and difficult) way- this pattern looks more sensible and I will keep it! Your runners are so nice.
