Rising Star

Some fun was had on Saturday trying out the Accuquilt Rising Star die. I bought it in either November or December when they were having daily deals.  It makes a 10" star in a star block.

That center star is small and I wouldn't want to do it without the die because it was a snap to make with the dog ears all cut off before you even begin!

I made all the stars on Saturday afternoon and finished the piecing on Sunday.

Quilted it and bound it on Monday. And got it listed in the shop after taking photos Tuesday morning.

I made it versatile by putting a hanging sleeve on the back so my customers can choose if they want it as a table topper or a wall hanging.

  6. Wow! I love this one! I'm anxious to start playing with my new AccuCut but have made myself wait until I had a couple of other things done first. I'm getting closer to being able to break it out and play.

  7. Your Rising Star quilt is amazing, Vicki and love the background fabric that you chose. Your Raggedy Ann and Andy are so precious. Did you make them? They look perfect with your quilt. Have a great week.

  8. I've made that block and loved it, but without the dies. I donated the blocks to someone who made a great quilt of them, different from yours, but I love what you did with this one.

  9. Hi Vicki! This is really cute. I love the cornerstones and sashing along with the checkerboard. And that background fabric, it really enhances the other fabrics and design just perfectly. It is really versatile plus it can be used for the next FIVE months. That's one worthwhile decoration in my book - what else do you leave out for five months?!! {{Hugs}} a bunch! ~smile~ Roseanne
