Red and black anything is just classic, this round wedge topper fits right in. You have seen me make several of these toppers over the last few years. They are addicting. The thing to remember is to pick a fabric that will sing for the small sashing, the red in this case. After you have your focus fabric pull from that for all the rest. My focus fabric is the black with red and white flowers.
Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek at my latest finish.

Very dramatic topper. Someone will love it. I always find it fun to work with the wedge rulers.
ReplyDeleteI actually have made this one before and sold it.
DeleteI have never made a round topper... I may need to add to my bucket list. 🤔 Thanks for sharing in Sew & Tell.
ReplyDeleteFor sure put it on the list!
DeleteThat topper is so attractive! Love the black with the pops of green and red.
ReplyDeleteThank you Linda!
DeleteNifty table topper. Yes the reds are definitely poppies. I'm with you wanting my backings to have some relationship to the front. I notice your center circle looks a lot like the size of the plaid plate. Do you use dishes or ? to make your center circle?
ReplyDeleteOne could use a dish for the circle, but I use my Olfa round cutter for it. I surprised myself by how much I do use it!
DeleteI love how you pulled out the green and white for the checkerboard strip from the focus fabric, as well as the red, Vicki! This color combination is a winner!
ReplyDeleteI use that method of pulling fabric most of the time, it works well for me.
Deletesuch a nice look!
ReplyDeleteThanks Karen!
DeleteHow cute, this is a lovely project! Your fabric choice is perfect!
ReplyDeleteThanks Frederique, using that method works well for picking fabric for me.
DeleteFun table topper, Vicki!!! Do you add the red circle in the middle last?
ReplyDeleteThe red circle is machine appliqued on after sewing the wedges all together.
DeleteSo pretty and fun. Would you tell me where I might find this pattern? I would certainly appreciate it! Dfb@cox.net
ReplyDeleteYou can find my tutorial for this topper under my 'Tutorials' page under my header here on my blog.

ReplyDeleteAww thanks so much Brenda! They are fun and addicting!
DeleteVery pretty! How did you get it on the longarm? Just curious!
ReplyDeleteI float all my quilts on the long arm so this one is done pretty much the same.
DeleteThis is a beautiful table quilt, Vicki. You certainly had some pretty fabrics to work with.
ReplyDeleteThank you, it's rather fun picking out the fabrics for them!
DeleteOh yes, I remember those wedge toppers. I think I remember saying 'curves are dangerous.' LOL
ReplyDeleteThank you, they really are pretty easy to make.
DeleteThese toppers always amaze me with your precise piecing!! So cute.
