My scrappy green disappearing four patch (also known as D4P) has crossed the finished line and is ready for donation. I posted about the beginning of this quilt here. Since I started it this year and we are only into June(how did we get here so quickly!) I will say it was a WIP not a UFO;)
I had time and the desire to find a backing for this 40 x 50" top and before long it was finished. The backing is a flannel that was given to me. Flannel is a great backing as it gives a cozy feeling to the quilt.
A quick stipple and a green binding completes this quilt and gives it great texture.
There were also two other tops made into quilts but I will save those for another post. This is what I will be working on this week.
Our Spirea was just loaded with blossoms this year.

ReplyDeleteWhat a nice green donation quilt! It looks so cozy. Your second project is intriguing. I look forward to seeing it finished. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great use of green in your completed disappearing four patch! Your spirea really was a show stopper! --TerryK@OnGoingProjects
ReplyDeletewhat a lovely flower bush - that quilt looks larger than 40x50 for some reason - some one will love it
ReplyDeleteYour green quilt is a pretty finish! I love your photo with all the green in yard and the wood of the bench. And that next finish has a whole different vibe - it says summer! Pretty spirea, too - I've seen them in our neighborhood blooming like crazy this year.
ReplyDeleteD4P is great! I am intrigued by the quilt you are working on, it looks interesting. Daryl~ patchouli.moon.studio at gmail dot com

ReplyDeleteLovely variety of greens in this quilt.
ReplyDeleteGood job on the green donation quilt. It turned out great. I'm really intrigue by that new project you teased us with. I'm continuing to focus on finishing the WIPs and UFOs but am always tempted by new projects too.
ReplyDeleteD4P is one of my favorite blocks to make. I haven't made a scrappy one and love yours! The quilt you are working on now is beautiful, too.
ReplyDeleteI love the D4P blocks. Thanks for sharing in Sew & Tell.
ReplyDeleteThe D4P is a perfect donation, and I totally agree that it was a WIP! I can't believe how fast this year is going by.
ReplyDeleteThat's a pretty green quilt, and the backing works really well with it! Hope you are staying cool over there - my spirea isn't looking nearly as nice as yours!
ReplyDeleteHi Vicki! You've been on a fabulous UFO finishing roll. Great job! Happy day before your birthday. I hope you have a great one. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne
ReplyDeleteYou D4P is an inspiration to me. I may have to figure out whether I'll make one in green or blue. And, lucky me, I have a 5" die. I think I'll hit up the scrap baskets first and then hit older fat quarters. Great finish and ooooh the new one is lovely.
ReplyDeleteThe green D4P is a beautiful quilt and will make a lovely donation. The new project is very intruiguing in those pretty fabrics.
ReplyDeleteI love flannel as a backing!!! Great quilt finish, Vicki!!!
