Strings, Bunnies, Cross stitch

Several things were on the top of my list to cross the finish line. First up a UFO that was started in June of 2025. It made it to a flimsy stage, perhaps you remember seeing it before. This past week it got it's turn on the longarm with a quick and easy stipple.

It all began innocently by piecing scrap strings last year...

And quickly cut using my 12" Accuquilt signature die.

This is what it looks like when putting four of those six inch blocks together. And 2 weeks later it was a flimsy.

I pieced the backing with fabric that was donated to me. This quilt is a donation quilt, I believe this is my seventh one for this year. There is still at least one more in the closet that needs quilting, I hope I get time to do it.

A tan muslin was used for the triangles.

It is never too early to make seasonal items when you sell them! Four Easter bunny table runners completed.

And their fun backings.

In between all that I kitted up a few projects for winter sewing and knitting! I hope to use one of my knitting machines to make hats for donation.

This has been my evening stitching while watching TV for the last two weeks. It's one of Melisa's houses. I hope to add the finishing stitches on Sunday so I will link to Slow Stitching Sunday

  1. Oh I like that pattern! I had an AccuQuilt at one point but finally sold it, because I never used it. Makes me wish I had it back! Your fabrics are really pretty together. Where do you donate your quilts? Aren't Melissa's houses so cute!
Have your leaves turned yet? I bet you are having some nice fall weather.

  3. OMG - those bunnies are adorable!! They've captured my heart! I love the string quilt. I did one similar a couple of years ago and donated it to Sleep in Heavenly Peace. Now I'm thinking I need to make another one. I love how yours has the tan corners, and darker color strings. Awesome finishes!!

  4. I had to smile seeing the Debbie Mumm fabric on the back of you donation quilt. My first quilt was using her Noah's Ark first line. Lovely work!

  5. I love that string quilt design! I've seen other versions of it, but didn't realize you could cut the pieces with an Accuquilt die. The Easter bunnies are adorable, and your cross-stitch looks great! I think I stitched that one, but changed the house color. The sunflowers are what make it fun!

  7. Look at all of those pretty fabrics! What a fabulous quilt and I bet using the Accuquilt made the process a lot quicker. Oooh that backing is amazing too- The bunny runners make me smile. You certainly have made a lot of pretties, Vicki. And I am so honored that you have been working on one of my humble homes. You brought a smile to my day. Have a lovely weekend. Hugs.

  18. What a great use of your strings. I've been starting to go through bags of scraps and didn't want to throw away all the strips less than 2". This might be a perfect solution. Did you cut the finished shape with a die from a Cube? It looks like one to me and that would make the whole project so much easier. Bunnies, although very early, are also very cute.
