Both things in that title are sweet!! Last week there was a fabric estate sale. The ad said 4000 yds, of fabric😮. That my sweeties is a LOT of fabric! Of course I went, LOL. And of course I bought! There was quilting fabric(we'll get to that in a moment), garment fabric, lace, yarn, thread, canvas, upholstery, flannel, quilt books and yarn. The quilting fabric was $5 per pound. I didn't buy any of the other stuff so I don't remember what that was. Gobs and gobs of simplicity type patterns that were free. She had been collecting/sewing for 60 years they said. The bittersweet is that she past away last fall I heard. I didn't know her, but I hope she will appreciate my purchase and uses. Here is what 50 yards of fabric all folded and stacked looks like. Yep that is what came home with me. I will use a lot of it for backings. It ended up being $1.50 a yard. I couldn't pass that up!

Stash enhancement and a finish
And now for the finish, a sweet cupcake runner. Wouldn't this be perfect to use for a birthday party, or to give someone on their birthday. This is from my own design and if you are a follower you might have seen some like it before. I like using these fun colors for these.
It would be so fun if I had a birthday cake to stage with it! But I don't so the flowers will have to do.
I love it when I find the perfect backing in my stash with just enough fabric to fit.
Thanks for visiting and if you left a comment I shall go off to read it now:) I am going to try something new to me for a while and see how I/we like it. I shall be replying to your comment right here on the blog.

Fun and inspirational days
I survived Quilt Expo in Madison Wisconsin and I am back home and ready to get to work!! Last Wednesday I drove over to my friend's house an hour north of Madison, stayed at her house overnight, and then we went down to the show on Thursday morning. Within an hour the show was really getting packed with people! It was a fantastic show, so much to look at and get inspired by.
We chose to stay in Madison that night and go to the show 2 days. I took 2 lectures on scrap quilting and one on modern quilts. The modern quilt one was by Weeks Ringle, only when we got to the lecture her DH(Bill Kerr) was there. Weeks had injured her shoulder the night before and couldn't be there. Bill mentioned he was the one that put the power point together, so we knew we would be in good hands and we were. It was a very fun lecture.
Here we are all tuckered out after the two days. Don't let my empty hands fool you-my goodies are in my SUV already!
I found a really good deal on Batiks at one of the booths(after I had already bought several from another vendor) 20 FQ's for $30. And they were very nice quilt shop quality. The first booth I hit was Bolines, found the rainbow bundle and a few 1/2 yard pieces there for more pumpkin wall hangings. Picked up the pineapple trim ruler from another vendor, a few pieces at Nancy's Notions booth.

I told my DH that I should leave home more often, I made another Etsy sale while I was gone! And I had another this morning. For a long time I have wanted for this to happen, so I am really stoked! I better go get that ready to ship and put my goodies away so I can start planning out my week. Out of country company arriving on Thursday for the weekend too.

Wonkiness and Stash collecting-again!
I couldn't resist the sale on Keepsake Calico's at Jo Ann's a couple weeks ago. Darn the prints were so cute, and the colors were perfectly what I wanted for a quilt. And then I saw this book, so I had to have it too. Well I am cutting a quilt from that book as we speak. The gray fabric at the bottom of the photo is for a different project.
The funny thing is when I got home and I was rearranging some fabrics, I found more in these colorways that went perfectly so I added them when cutting out.
Here is a little neonatal quilt I finished up recently. I used Jayne's wonky charm tutorial to make it.
The charms were part of a thank you gift from Sandra and Julie for participating in a Craftsy Blog Hop they were hosting last year.
One could definitely use some scraps to make your own charm squares for this little quilt. This is a fun and easy to use pattern that I love to make!

Adding to the stash and today's project
I am crushing on new fabric I added to the stash! Connecting threads had a great Back Friday sale and I picked up some Good Neighbors fat quarters. I might have also had a couple other bundles in the cart too, I'll show you those another day:-) No I don't have a plan in place for these fabrics yet.
Here is a sneak peek at my project I am working on today. The print triangles were all cut and leftover from another project. Stay tuned to see the finished top, hopefully later this week.
