Yellow squares make a...

I had an idea to make a new runner this past weekend.  I used my new Go cutter that Accuquilt sent to all of us Island Batik ambassadors this year.  Can you guess what I am making.

But first I had to finish up another sunflower table runner for a customer. So yes it looks just like the one from last week for my Island Batik March project.

OK back to the yellow squares, it's a pineapple block! Using all scraps for the pineapple and the leaves.

Which turned into two blocks and then into this.

The background I quilted with a design that reminds me of the leaves on the pineapple.  A meander in the pineapple itself with leaf shapes for the top.

So much fun to try something new.  I was inspired by many pineapple blocks on Pinterest.  But the runner design is my own.

I have it listed in my Etsy shop.

  4. Hi Vicki! I have been meaning to make a runner similar to this using my door hanging template. I just ADORE the black binding and cornerstones. And it looks so snazzy on your table - it will be snapped up in a minute, I'm guessing. ~smile~ Roseanne

  5. So cute! Not every fruit works as simple squares and triangles, but pineapples sure do. I'll bet it was fun to make, too :)

  13. Another cute table runner! And of course I like gingham in anything. I'd make some runners for my table but then that would mean I would have to clear it off if I actually wanted to use the table runner.
