Warm fuzzies!!

I had warm fuzzies all day and night yesterday. I am cleaning up my donation pile of quilts, getting them quilted, bound and out the door. So yesterday since I was running errands I dropped off these 8 quilts for Project Linus. These have all actually been done for a while but I just hadn't taken the time to deliver them.  My wish for them is that they give some boy or girl a warm quilty hug.  I have shown them on the blog before after having bound them so I won't go into individual pictures this time.

 This pile of 12 yes TWELVE quilts I showed and then donated last night at our guild meeting. They will go to Neonatal. They are all about 36" square.  I have showed most of them individually as I finished them, but there are a couple that I didn't...

So here they are.  This little pink and brown one resulted in a friend who gave me a bag of scraps and orphan blocks, the center 4 patches and brown with pink sashing were from her, then I dug in my stash for the rest.

 I wanted to try out my new ruler from Hex and More ruler so I made this baby quilt.

I pieced this one so long ago I forgot where the charm pack came from or the pattern I used to piece it or if I made it up. I am sure no one else ever has this problem right ;-)  But check out the last green border quilting treatment on the top and bottom of the quilt.  A fun new design I learned from a tutorial from Kim Stotsenberg.  This is from a charm pack I won at our local guild quilt show in October. I won a great door prize with 4 identical charm packs, a GC to Nancy's notions and a table runner book(perfect for me since I love to make table runners). So to show my thanks I thought I would use part of a charm pack to make this and donate it. The tutorial came from Inspiring Creations.  These little quilts are the perfect way to try out a new pattern. You don't always have to make the quilt the same size as the pattern, just make a few and turn them into a little baby quilt!!

So, for me, giving these to people in need give me such warm fuzzies and I hope it gives them just a little comfort to be wrapped in a quilty hug.

Glad to have more finishes

So glad to have 4 more finishes to show you today, and really glad to have them out of my closet!  I have been showing you so many little baby quilts lately so I am going to switch things up a bit-these quilts are a tad larger :-)  These will go to project Linus since they are small lap sizes.

This is a Villa Rosa design, I love those sweet little laminated cards. If you need a quick easy quilt you really need to check these out. For a while our local quilt shop was having a monthly VIP and we got a free pattern from Villa Rosa just for attending! But all good things must come to an end and she now has a different program.

I freehanded a curly half flower design on it. I had extra green 2.5" strips so I have a scrappy green binding.



















This was a preprinted Mother Goose panel and I added the diamond red and yellow border along with the blue ones.  This panel was really wonky so I had a hard time when squaring it up, so it's their printing not my cutting/sewing-just so ya know, LOL

A disappearing nine patch with butterflies, I used the Angel Wings pantograph to quilt it because it looks like butterfly wings to me :-)

And another preprinted panel. I bought this one several years ago, when I was pretty new at longarming, so I could practice Pam Clarke techniques and never did it till now. Since then, I have learned I like free handing all overs or doing custom block work with rulers best. So that is what I did-all ruler work on this one. I used one of Renae Haddidin's amazing arc's for the block,  a smaller curved ruler for the flying geese border and a small squiggle ruler for the blue sashing.  I did piece and add the top and bottom (red and yellow) half square triangle borders along with the blue ones so it would have a little more length.

Project Linus quilts

Just finished binding these 4 quilts between yesterday and today and delivered them to Project Linus. It is so rewarding to donate them to a worthy organization.
