Getting my Wiggle on!

Earlier this month Cynthia had her patterns on sale so I thought I should pick up her Wiggle Time pattern and get my wiggle on!!  And I did wiggle yesterday, LOL  I went to my charity fabric cupboard and pulled out a background piece and coordinating scraps. But, alas, my background piece wasn't big enough. I really wanted to use this one so I thought I would just scale back the pattern and make a neonatal size with it. So less blocks and 1 less row and I had just enough to make it work. What a fast, fun little pattern, in a couple hours I had this sewn...

We then went off to a retirement party and when we came home I went back to the charity fabric cupboard and pulled out for another one and started in on it.  This will be the size from the pattern. Back to wiggling for me today!

Bright scraps!

This is gonna be a pretty quick post, it's so nice out today that we want to get our TerraTrikes out on the local trail. But I wanted to share this bright scrappy quilt that I finished up recently. The colorful blocks are wonky log cabin blocks from the Quilting Modern book. I was inspired by a setting that Cynthia from Quilting is more fun than housework blog used a while ago.

I used a brushed fleece in lt. blue for the backing and NO batting, it is a very sofy snuggly quilt! The quilting designs in the wonky blocks are designs from Christina Cameli's second book. I used Glide thread.

WIP Wednesday

I started 3 more little baby quilts, each are 36" square to donate to the local neonatal unit. A friend, who moved away, gave me some fabric she didn't want to haul and there were 2 charm packs from the Central Park line by Kate Spain in it. Thanks Cynthia! So I had enough to make 3 little quilts by adding in my own solid fabric. These would be great for a set of triplets! I got EQ7 earlier this year and hadn't played with it for a while so I decided to mock it up in there-for a refresher course ya know. Since I ran out of solid green I chose an orange for the third one and I am not doing the white stripe either, gotta mix it up a bit!

Quilting, quilting, quilting!!

These stack and whack style blocks have been percolating in the back of the closet for 6 years probably! They were supposed to be a vest way back when, and now I think what an ugly vest that would be, so I turned it into a quit to be donated.
This is a strippy tumbler quilt, a fun one to piece using leftover strings, and fun to quilt with freehand ferns.

Whew I am really tired tonight, but I did manage to get a lot done today. Finished up this string tumbler that I started a week or more ago. Yesterday I had a friend over and she started one and I worked more on this. Finished it up this morning. The inspiration for this quilt came from http://www.maryquilts.com/strings/string-tumblers/ Thanks Mary. It's an awesome way to use leftovers from other projects.
I then moved onto another charity quilt, this one I used a charm pack of Wizard of Oz fabrics and navy background. This is a free pattern I found here http://crazymomquilts.blogspot.com/2011/02/movin-on-up.html Thanks Amanda Jean!,

So yep it's been a long time ago that I started this blog and have not kept up to date as you can well see, LOL. And I hate blogs that do that, go figure!
I have been keeping busy so far this year with piecing several quilt tops for charity in Jan. and I went to a wonderful quilt retreat, had so much fun with friends. This month, I am trying to get lots of those quilt tops quilted and bound and maybe even out the door. Here are a few pic's of some.
