Log cabin holly runner

I might be a little ahead of the holiday season but I just felt like making this while we were out camping earlier this month.  Most of it was precut and kitted up to take along. Actually two of these were pieced. Quilting happened earlier this week.

The pattern is from Connie at Freemotion by the river blog. I tweaked it a bit by doing my logs in only red and white.

My stash yielded me the plaid for the binding:) It measures approximately 24" square.

Weekly goals

On this second To Do Tuesday of November I report another good week of meeting goals.

Goals set and met for the week were:

1. Poinsettia runner ✅✅ I was planning on only one of these but finished two! These are for the big local order.  That order consists of these two poinsettia runners, 8 of Holly red and white toppers, and 2 Gnome wall hangings.

2. Bind another Valentine runner✅ I posted about that on Friday

3. Piece 2 more of those red and white 24" toppers (I have an order of 8 total) ✅ I did piece two of them and only finished one completely which now makes 4 of them ready for the order!  I am halfway done with that order, need it finished by Dec. 1st.

4. Turkey runner ✅

5. Anything else I have time for. ✅  These two were finished yesterday and relisted in the shop.  They are from my pattern Tilted Trees.

This week's goals:

1. Snowman runner

2. Hexie snowman topper

3. Two Gnome wall hangings

4. Anything else I have time for

Weekly Goals

A day late for To Do Tuesday, but better late than never right!  I'll get right to it today.

The goals for the week were:

1. Working on binding three identical 24" toppers ✅ Binding done and also the applique of the holly, I do have to hide the threads yet.

2. Bind 3 pumpkin runners ✅ All done and in the mail.

3.  Anything is fair game...  First up was having Wendy come and sew with me on Monday and Tuesday. We had lots of chattering and sewing!

That's all that was on my list but I finished up these 2 table runners this week also.

And for a little unexpected fun a squirrel sat there begging me to make these placemats.  So I had to listen to him didn't I 😁  Once I decided on how they should look I set right to it on Saturday and by night time they were all done.

It's been a good week.  So what's on tap this week?

1. Turkey runner
2. Bind another Valentine runner
3. Piece 2 more of those red and white 24" toppers (I have an order of 8 total)
4. Poinsettia runner
5. Anything else I have time for.

Wishing you all a great week ahead!  Visit all the goal setters at To Do Tuesday, also linking with Wednesday Wait Loss

Christmas table toppers

I, literally, bring you Christmas in July!  Those that follow me might have seen me do these table toppers before. But, I assure you these are indeed new ones, made this year.

Holly leaves all around.  On this one, after piecing the black center background, I machine stitched on the green bias stem.  After adding the borders, I quilted it and then machine appliqued on the green wool felt leaves.  Also machine stitched on were the buttons for the holly.

These runners are from a tutorial found on Freemotion by the River blog HERE.  But instead of the hearts I used holly leaves, which I appliqued on with green felt after the quilting was done.

These are from my Around and Around We Go pattern found in my Craftsy shop HERE.  I am going to list one of these in my Etsy shop soon, which you can find HERE

And Christmas in July continues next week as we begin the 12 Days of Christmas in July Blog Hop hosted by Sarah at Confessions of a Fabric Addict.  There are 34 of us participating-that is a lot of Christmas inspiration to check out!  My day is Saturday July 15th, so be sure to plan on stopping by. There will be a list with links for all of our blogs published.  I will be releasing a new snowman pattern!
