String progress + cross stitch

 I have made a little progress on my bright string quilt. The white sashing with orange cornerstones got added. I cut the sashing at 1.5". Next I will add a white border all around cut the same as sashings. The plan from there is to make a piano key type border with more strings. 

There is a finish today also...A little cross stitch pillow using a pattern from Primrose Cottage. This was one of their free monthly patterns. If you didn't know they offer a free cross stitch and a free quilting pattern in their monthly newsletter but you have to sign up.

Did you notice the background color of the Aida cloth? I used a green colored pencil and went over the white Aida to get a light green. I have no idea how this will hold up over time but I don't plan to wash it so I am not worried. This piece has been stitched since November and just now finished it into a little six inch pillow.

A variety of projects

 A variety of projects for different seasons. Colorful Christmas lights on black fabric is the focus fabric on this round wedge topper. From that I pulled red and green tone on tone fabrics and the black accent fabric has metallic gold dots for a bit of glitz.

For the backing I found more Christmas lights fabric but with a white background. It wasn't enough for the whole backing so I added a bright green and made it striped.

The first of three St. Patty's long table runners is totally finished. Number two is quilted and bound, the third one needs quilting and then those two will get totally finished as I need more in the shop.

And it's backing. You can see that I appliqued after quilting.

Yes I am planning ahead a bit by getting some St. Patrick's items finished. I just need to write a listing for them. All in time;)  I do have an order for one of these in different prints, I 'll be working on that one today.

I have a very busy week of sewing/quilting, kitting up more projects and a yucky event on Thursday-a root canal. I hate dental work. I usually have a sedation for root canals but I can no longer go to that endontist as his prices went sky high and they are not in our network. Trying a new one out of town and they don't offer sedation. I will be trying lorazapam and hope it works really well so I don't know what is going on.

Bouncing around

 I am feeling like a rubber ball bouncing around the room, LOL.  Seriously I have a lot of different projects I am working on, all in different stages and keep bouncing from one to another.  

Two of three Easter runners have been quilted. Will bind and applique after the third one gets to this stage.

Tuesday morning two of three St. Patrick's runners were quilted and bound in the afternoon. Ready for applique after I get the third one quilted and bound.

I cut both of the following St. Patty runners on Sunday and pieced them Monday. Quilted this one Tuesday morning, it's awaiting it's binding. 

Plan to quilt this round one today.

Also in the last three days I started cutting/kitting up projects to work on this winter. Several Morning Star runners were cut with the accuquilt die. A few pumpkin wall hangings are ready. I didn't cut those all out, just made sure I had the fabrics needed together.

Green for St. Patty's Day

It was a green day in my sewing room lately.  I believe it is not to early to think ahead to coming seasons or holidays. Plus it is always fun to pull out fabrics I haven't worked with for quite a while. Here is what I whipped up...

You all know how much I love working with the 10 degree wedge ruler and you most likely have seen both of these styles I have made before. They are just to fun not to make!!

And just to be a bit different I started with some spring like colors for a donation quilt. You will have to come back to see how it comes out;)

We frequently get deer coming through our yard, these two guys were attacking my pumpkin...

and then they started attacking each other and after several minutes of that this one lost one of his antlers!

St. Patrick's Day projects

St. Patrick's Day fabrics are not so plentiful here this year.  Our JoAnn Fabrics is moving into a bigger building soon so they haven't been stocking as much in the old store. And the new one isn't open until early March I think.  Even Hobby Lobby doesn't have much, I did however pick up one piece there a few weeks ago. I did have one piece left from a previous year so I was able to make up a couple of table runners.

If you follow my blog you know how much I love making these round wedge toppers. My customers really seem to like them. If you are knew to my blog I have a tutorial on these under the Tutorial page in my header.

Next up is the reversed S swirl runners which are pretty popular. Until this year I haven't made these in shamrock fabrics.

There have been a couple of other projects I have in the works, one is for Project Quilting. That should be done and blogged on Saturday.  The other is for the upcoming Sew it-Show it Challenge hosted by Joan at MooseStash Quilting.  My day will be Tuesday Feb. 21st. It's Shamrock Time

 After coming up with this Valentine design I decided it would be a great one for a shamrock also.  

It's DrEAMI don't cha think!  DrEAMi! (Drop Everything And Make it!), I'll be linking up with Sandra at MMM quilts at the end of the month.  

This green was so hard to photograph, I tried everything to get close to the real color. 

I think this last photo has the closest to the real color.   I used my Gnome table runner pattern and substituted a shamrock.

To Do Tuesday #35

 I am always amazed at how fast the week goes, and I think it goes faster after joining in with To Do Tuesday hosted by Roseanne and Sue at HomeSewnByUs each week.  Sometimes I don't feel like I got much done or is it because I have to lofty of a goal?  But once I list it out, usually I don't do to bad!

My goal for this last week was to:

• Finish another wall hanging  ✅
• Work on Two St. Patrick's table runners ✅
• Anything else I had time for✅

I had so much from making the first one that I went on to make up another one using this snowman panel.  I'll give him his own post later this week. 

The St. Patrick table runners are done also. These are for a customer. 

The last goal was to make anything else I had time for.  That goal turned into getting photos and writing up listings for some snowmen dolls, which are now in my Etsy shop.  It was a busy weekend in the shop too, I packaged up three table runners and a purse.

This week will be crazy with hubby making three appt. that I need to drive him to. Plus a couple other errands.  But in the sewing arena I hope to get a strawberry table runner done, quilt up a snowman runner that is already pieced, and make another Gnome runner.  I would love to also quilt up another panel wall hanging.  Perhaps too ambitious, I guess we'll see.
